Founder Borra Garson has been in the agency business since 1992, and gained her reputation in the chef world by managing Gary Rhodes' career for ten years, during his BBC days. She later signed up Jamie Oliver when he was a complete unknown, and represented him for six years across all his television, publishing, advertising and merchandise ranges, many of which are still going strong today.
Her husband Aidan McKenna is her partner and heads up all things financial and operational in the business. This is a boutique agency, and the list is kept small in order to ensure a high level of service to each client. With some of the UK's top names in lifestyle presenting on their books, the agency enjoys excellent relationships with publishing editors, television producers and PR agencies.
Borra has a proven track record in nurturing new talent and relishes the challenge of turning an unknown into a household name. Her eye these days is very much on the internet, which she feels is the way of the future.
Emma Hughes, Talent Co-Ordinator and Office Manager runs the diaries and organises everyone's (clients and staff) lives. Jan Croxson , Senior Talent Manager, joined DML in April 2009 and has a wealth of experience developing stars like Dermot O'Leary, Kate Thornton and representing stars like Vernon Kay.
DML's philosophy is to tailor their services to the individual needs of each client, and maintain a high level of communication with them and involve them very closely with every decision about their media career. They support their clients' charitable work and provide administrative back up for everyone. The market changes all the time, and they know it's their job to work efficiently and keep things relevant in the ever changing world of media.
