Pips Taylor

Short Biography

Pips Taylor is a hugely exciting new find from Bolton bringing the same cheeky northern warmth which have made fellow Bolton-ites Vernon Kay and Sarah Cox so successful. She is totally natural in front of the camera and is instantly appealing to the audience with a relaxed, down to earth manner which appeals to all.

An eye for culture and a curiosity for the arts have enabled her to present from backstage at the Grand Design Awards (Just so films). In February 2010 she had a daily entertainment slot at LiveFromLondonFashion week (t5m) and reported backstage at fashion parties interviewing models and fashion designers. Pips also presented at The Monaco Charity Film Festival where she interviewed directors, producers, and actors. A resourceful go-getter, Pips did all her own research and preparation for the festival and self-produced the footage.

She has a love of all music and spends much of her time attending music festivals including Glastonbury, Big Chill, Secret Garden Party, Sonar in Barcelona, Wakestock to name a few and anything in Ibiza!  Pips has covered music events like Breakspoll Awards and reported for acclaimed online music site - lovethattune.com at the Big Chill Festival.  Pips has covered the SW4 Festival, reporting backstage and interviewing names such as Ritchie Hawtin and Eric Prydz.  She was one of four finalists for MTV's nationwide search for a new presenter.

Pip's educational background is impressive having studied Spanish and History of Art at Bristol University. She has used this artistic knowledge to present from Frieze Art Fair and Zoo Art Fair for LondonArt.co.uk where she interviewed exhibitors, artists, specialists and the general public. Pips regularly conducts interviews with artists for her own blog which is going live this year.

Her Spanish qualification has also been put to good use having worked at Sotheby's in Mexico, organised contemporary art exhibitions in Mexico City and taught English in Madrid. Pips is keen to use her love of travelling, language and living in foreign climes in her presenting career. Whilst living abroad she tried skydiving, volcano clambering, scuba-diving and paragliding - she is a lover of adrenalin sport.

Her versatility is a huge asset. Pips is equally at home at fashion shows (she PR's for up and coming designers), art galleries or backstage at raves and festivals. Pips flourishes in front of the camera but is also a hard working, energizing presence in any production team. Having worked at Endemol for over a year as a front line researcher, she has now turned her skills to producing. Pips is currently producing MICroscope, Riz Ahmed's  ambitious multimedia show - an interactive and immersive concert which is touring the UK this year.
