Polly Beard is a writer who knows how to have fun. For the last five years, she has been inspiring parents to play, and above all, have fun with their children. Her two best-selling books, I'm Bored! and I'm Bored. Again! (Bloomsbury), packed full of original, humorous games and ideas, have been a godsend for many families looking for something to do. For the past three years, she has written a much-loved column every Saturday in The Times called Do Try This At Home, answering readers' questions on how to keep children of all ages entertained.
Polly has worked with a number of companies on various media campaigns, and has been a spokeswoman on both radio and TV. For two years, she worked closely with the Early Learning Centre to help develop a website devoted to play ideas. She has also presented parenting workshops at various book festivals and bookshops as well as for corporate clients. Television includes appearances on BBC Breakfast, CBBC Xchange, and a pilot (Silver River) for BBC2 entitled "Are We Having Fun Yet?". Most recently, Polly was seen giving useful tips and advice on raising and entertaining children on GMTV's Raising Kids campaign.
